On any given day your toilet can face some very common issues. Don’t lose hope. These are just everyday common problems, problems that can be fixed rather easily. This is why we are here. Think of this content as a written commentary on advice that we give out to all of our clients.
THE PHANTOM FLUSHER
This is one that really confuses lots of our customers. The tank will fill the tank as if it’s been flushed. What is really going on is a leak. Perform a food dye test. Put some dye into the tank. Let it sit for about ten minutes.
Now look at the tank. Is the water colored? if it is, there is a problem with the flapper. It’s at this point you will need to get a new one. Are you having issues deciding what to do? Give us a call. We can talk you through it.
THERE IS NOISE WHEN THE TANK FILLS
This is what we refer to as the whistle problem. This means you have a really old ball cock and valve. The older models will cause vibrations in the tank, especially when the water is filling.
You might want to consider getting a new ball cock and valve. Do not go for the economy model though. This is not the time to be cheap. Go for the best one on the market. It might cost you so money, but it will last for years to come. If you are having issues with your decision, let us help you.
SUCTION SOUNDS
These sounds are usually coming from the tub and sink. It will happen every time you flush the toilet. There is usually one cause of this problem. The vent pipe is either clogged all the way or only partially clogged. Either way, it’s going to cause an issue.
See if you can drop a flashlight down the drain to find the cause. You might have to use a small hose down there. You might need some help with this. Why? If you handle this the wrong way you will cause an even bigger clog. The best thing you can do is let us come over and take a look. Our trained professionals can tell you what exactly is going on. Our staff can also solve the problem for you.
